He received his MD in 1984 and completed his residency in internal medicine in his hometown of Gallatin, Tennessee. In 1991, he was elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Mitchell has been active in creation ministry for many years. He felt the Lord’s call to full-time service, and in 2007 he withdrew from the active practice of medicine to join AiG as a full-time speaker and writer.
