The story Throughout its history, Cuervo y Sobrinos has conceived watches that exhibit a high quotient of Cuban-style. The Prominente Doble Tiempo is offered in four dial colours, each endowed with a prepossessing appearance. Notably, unlike a conventional GMT watch, this dual time model is equipped with two independent movements, allowing the wearer to display the time correctly in two different locations irrespective of their UTC offset. Today’s reinterpretation is equipped with a see-through case back, allowing sight of a fully restored Landeron 248 movement. Unlike most modern-day movements, the bridges are comparatively small, affording views of the wheels and levers at play. The various bridges are embellished with an understated brushed finish. Measuring 30.5mmx 52mm the stainless steel case is generously proportioned and always makes a statement wherever the wearer chooses to travel. Highly polished surfaces heighten the sumptuous appearance of the watch and the rectangular lines of the dial sit in concert with the arcing profile of the case flanks. Two crowns hug the right-hand side of the case, each dedicated to their respective display and movement. Each dial is enlivened with a guilloché motif, while each hour and minutes display features its own unique style of hour marker, providing a useful means of differentiating both indications. Breguet hour and minute hands, endowed with luminescent treatment, proclaim the time on each display.
