Maple Acer palmatum

FOLIAGE: Small bright green palmate leaves, changing in Autumn to yellows, oranges and reds. Maples produce more brilliant colors in a cooler climate, especially when frosts occur. Temperature: Japanese maple grows best in a temperate climate with a preferred temperature range of 0 to 27 ℃. It is native to Japan where the temperature ranges from -5 to 27 ℃. During the hot summer months, it is recommended to provide shade and ample water to help the plant adjust to the high temperatures.  High Temperature: During summer, Japanese maple should be kept below 27°C. When the temperature exceeds 30°C, the leaves tips may become dry and withered, and the plant becomes more susceptible to sunburn. Solutions: Trim away the sunburned and dried-up parts. Move the plant to a location that provides shade from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth to create shade. Water the plant in the morning and evening to keep the soil moist.
