The use of the clay canteen dates back to ancient civilizations, such as the Roman Empire or Celtiberia, where its ability to keep water fresh and pure made it an indispensable item. Its popularity and practicality were such that we find very similar designs throughout Europe throughout different periods, whose shape and use have remained unchanged to this day: a practical and easy-to-produce form, and a porous material, clay, which allows evaporation and naturally refreshes the content. It was used indiscriminately by shepherds, travelers, soldiers or pilgrims… Our canteen, inspired by a medieval example from Al-Andalus from the 10th century, is made following traditional pottery techniques. This canteen is not only a practical piece, but also a symbol of connection with our roots.
