This type of helmet was widely used in Europe and there are many archaeological finds and manuscripts that show warriors wearing this type of helmet during the Dark Ages. However, the integrated chain mail makes this helmet more suitable for the 11th century. Our combat version is made of 2 mm steel and includes a riveted camail which cover the face and the neck. It has an adjustable inner suspension made of leather and it also has a leather chin strap with brass buckle. Available sizes: M: The inner circumference measures 61 cm. L: The inner circumference measures 65 cm. The steel is untreated and could have rust. To protect the steel you may rub it with mineral or synthetic oil.
