These swords, with a disc pommel and straight guard, were used from the mid-11th century to the 14th century. There are many examples throughout Europe. Their simple and functional design makes them very popular. The high-quality carbon steel blade is forged in a single piece, passing through the guard and hilt to the pommel, with the tang riveted to it. The point is rounded.
