This small cup or chalice is a replica of the one found in the burial of the King Gorm from Jelling, a small village at Vejle, Denmark. It is dated from the 10th century, coinciding with the reign of the monarch. Features Jelling-style entwined snake figures. It was precisely the village where it was found, which gives its name to this style. The original was made of silver.
