Double wax tablet, formed by two wooden tablets articulated with leather strips. Includes a brass “stylus” for writing. Wax tablets were used from Antiquity to the Middle Ages. They consisted of a lowered wooden base filled with beeswax. By means of a “stylus” that could be metallic or made of bone or ivory, they could write by engraving on the wax surface. In this case, the wax tablet is accompanied by a spatula-shaped brass stylus, allowing the engraved text to be erased in order to reuse the tablets. Measurements: 17 x 10 cm.
