The obverse shows Ambozontany Cathedral with a view of Fianarantsoa, along with a butterfly, the outline map of Madagascar and birds in flight. The reverse features the Madagascar poison frog, a waterfall, volute motifs and the Madagascan moon moth. The note carries the zebu head watermark with electrotype 100 and the security thread as described in the Numista entry.
