Our cat’s head profile pommel is cut from 3/4″ steel and contoured to reflect the specifications of the cat’s head profile pommels commonly found on the Schiavona and other Italian swords of the Renaissance period. These pommels come complete with an M8 pin that is tightened with a large allen wrench. We only offer it with M8x1.25 thread. Its total weight is .43lbs./200g. We offer 3 finishes as well: “Bright”, a bright antiqued satin metal finish. “Black Oxide”, an ultra tough dark matte black finish that offers the best rust prevention. Finally, “Polished”, a bright shiny deep polish that provides great rust resistance and detail preservation. Cat’s head profile pommels were very common on the cutting swords manufactured in Venice in the 17th century but were not exclusive to that period and place.
