With all of the sport rapier offerings out there these days, this one really delivers. Like all of our sword products, these are cut, ground and assembled in our little plant in Southern Oregon. We use domestic 5160 .250 bar stock for our Basic Rapier Blade or our proprietary specialty 5160 blue temper steel for our Economy Rapier Blade from mills here in the U.S. We get certs for all of our material to ensure the only the best materials are being used. We have spent the last year developing ways to cut manufacturing costs while maintaining the quality everyone expects from us here at Castille. We have been able to not only hit this mark, we have been able to develop a new standard in the industry. We have increased the toughness of our Economy blade and Guard, make the parts handle better than before and achieve a price point that makes these rapiers the absolute go to for those on a budget…or not! I will use one of these personally in my next tournaments to prove my point. It’s awesome! We offer both our original Basic Rapier Blade or the new Economy Rapier Blade in lengths of 38″, 40″ and 42″ to give those just starting out some options based on a particular curriculum or physical attributes. These blades are only offered in our F3 flex as it has become the universal standard for both SCA and HEMA combat. The guard is a full welded clamshell style build with ample hand protection, straight quillons and a stout knuckle bow. This build gets our normal black PLA 3.5″ grip and our Small ball pommel all in a bright finish. Individual parts are available under our “Parts” menu! Total weight: 1.8lbs. Approx POB: 2.25″-2.5″ in front of the guard with either blade offering. Will best fit a #1 small sized rubber safety tip.
